Africa is a vast continent with many countries all rich in tradition and culture. Come and enjoy a fun and creative introduction to some of these African cultures through dance and craft.

A large part of the day will be spent learning a West African dance routine, which will be energetic, joyous and inclusive. This will be later performed in our presentation at the end of the day. The workshop will also include various creative activities such as movement games exploring the Soko dance from Ghana, crafts such as mask making to explore the Zaouli Mask dance from Ivory Coast, and necklace making inspired by Kenya. There will also of course be an introduction to various African music styles and instruments
